Ara Studio

Ara studio's skeletal existence dates back to October 2002 when the decision to run a most thriving studio in Nigeria became the only available option. On February 1, 2003, it was innaugurated with a dance-theatrical interpretation of a painting. While Mufu Onifade produced by Mufu Onifade, it was performed by the Crown Troupe of Africa. This unique approach to art and performance, which occurred for the first time in Nigeria , was choreographed by Segun Adefila, young, talented and excessively creative Theatre director/choreographer. Later in the year, the Studio was incorporated in Nigeria with the aim to project African Arts and culture to the world.
The studio is structured to provide basic answers to several topical issues bordering on art practice in Nigeria . Concurrently, attention is paid to fundamental artistic endeavours.
